A questionnaire for the StaCast project

A new European project devoted to aluminium casting foundry, called StaCast has started up, with the ambitious goal to shed light on regulatory issues and quality standards for aluminium alloy castings. The StaCast project, whose duration is 18 months, refers to University of Padova, with coordination by Professor Franco Bonollo, and to a specialized work group, made up of Aalen Hochschule Technik und Wirtshaft (Germany), Trondheim Norges Universitet (Norway), Associazione Italiana di Metallurgia (Italy), Assomet Servizi (Italy), and Federation of Aluminium Consumers Europe (Brussels). All information concerning the  StaCast project can be found on www.stacastproject. org website.The StaCast project aims at developing a  new classification of the castings’ structural defects, at assessing the weight according to their functionality, and at stating the limits of acceptability for the envisaged final destinations.Achieving this goal will significantly help foundries reduce the cost of non-quality, while improving the competitive edge of companies, with the  addition of important advantages as for energy costs......
